LESSONS FOR EVERY RIDER
PRIVATE LESSON
Experience the joy of a one-on-one horse riding lesson with an experienced instructor who takes the time to understand both you and your horse. These personalised sessions focus on building confidence, connection and skill at your own pace.

GROUP LESSON
Join a small group riding lesson with two to four riders, led by an experienced instructor who provides individual attention while fostering a fun and social atmosphere. Build skills, grow and connect with both horses and fellow riders.

FOUNDATION & FORM
Our Foundation & From lesson is perfect for beginner and young riders, offering a well-rounded introduction to the world of horses. This session focuses on horsemanship skills like grooming and horse care, along with lungeing and arena work to develop balance, confidence and control from the very start. It’s an ideal rainy-day activity too, with horsemanship taking place indoors.

SCENIC OUTRIDES
Experience a scenic horseback ride through the Estate, guided by an experienced instructor. This relaxed weekend activity is perfect for individuals or small groups, allowing you to connect with nature and your horse. There’s no rush, just fresh air, open spaces and even a coffee stop along the way. Available on weekends only, this memorable experience caters to riders of all skill levels.

BECOME A MEMBER
The Val de Vie Equestrian Club Riding School offers various membership options, which can be paid annually or in monthly instalments, each including one lesson per week. If you’re not ready to commit, our pay-as-you-go option allows riders to join classes and pay per session.

Sarah Vos
Sarah developed a passion for horses at a young age. She began riding at three years old and growing up at the South African Jockey Academy allowed her to be around horses every day. With nearly a decade of experience teaching riders of all ages, levels and disciplines, she has developed a real passion for both horsemanship and helping others grow in the saddle. Her favourite disciplines are show jumping and equitation and she loves taking riders to competitions just as much as she enjoys competing herself. What Sarah loves most is seeing the joy that horses bring to people, especially during those special “light bulb” moments when a concept finally clicks for a rider.

Lu-né Van Niekerk
Born and raised in Paarl, Lu-né brings over 13 years of hands-on experience with horses to her role as a passionate riding instructor. With a love for teaching horsemanship, she focuses on creating harmony between horse and rider through clear communication and mutual respect. Her training approach places strong emphasis on both rider and equine biomechanics, ensuring a balanced and mindful connection in the saddle and on the ground. Guided by her motto, “Everything starts from the ground up,” Lu-né is dedicated to building confident and capable riders.

STABLING & LIVERY
Located next to our Hurlingham standard Pavilion Polo Field, Val de Vie Stables provides a safe and caring home for our beloved horses. Our dedicated equestrian management team ensures the well-being of our horses.
