The Stella Artois Val de Vie Polo Club is one of the most beautiful polo venues in the world and the most active on the African continent. Since its founding in 2008, the club has evolved from a small gathering of enthusiasts into a thriving hub of equestrian excellence, now anchored by our new clubhouse and three polo fields. The Stella Artois Val de Vie Polo Clubhouse features a trendy bar, comfy lounges and unbeatable views of the Pavilion polo field. Members get amazing perks, including two tickets to the annual Pink Polo event, access to international polo events, a complimentary polo shirt and cap, discounts on merchandise and a bottle of MCC to celebrate your birthday. Additionally, there are always monthly events, including live music and happy hour specials every first Thursday of the month.

All three of our polo fields meet International Hurlingham Polo Association standards. These vast manicured “stages” become the focus for a game of speed and skill. In addition to hosting international tournaments, our members play on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, during a season that runs from October to May (weather permitting, of course). Polo season is not only a sporting event, but a social tradition where Val de Vie Estate residents and visitors gather to dine at the Back’s Polo Pavilion restaurant on the sidelines of the polo fields. The tradition of “tailgating,” where cars are parked with their boots outwards towards the field, is ideal for picnics in the fresh air and abundant sunshine.

Ticketing Information
Major showcase events, such as Pink Polo and the Standard Bank Polo Test Match, are ticketed and open to the public through booking. For regular season fixtures, including league matches played once a month, tournaments running over a three-day span and cup games, no tickets are required and entry is free.

Visitor Access
Val de Vie Estate welcomes day visitors. The Estate is accessible through either the Berg River entrance via the R45 or the Main gate via the R301 Nelson Mandela Freedom Road. Present a valid driver’s licence or ID at security and you’ll be directed to the polo fields.
