Vineyards:
Mostly sourced from the Swartland area as well as Botrivier. Swartland area has decomposed granite soils that have beautiful rich spices. The vines are grown in bush vine, and no irrigation is given, unless it is an extreme case. Botrivier has deep red clay and coffee stone, and also a cooler climate. The vines are under irrigation.
Winemaking:
Grapes were hand sorted after they were picked optimally ripe in the early morning. Matured in French oak for 16-18 months before being bottled and aged in the glass for another year before release.
Winemaker's Comments:
White chocolate. cloves and cblack currant fills the glass. Dark, rich and velvet purple colour shows the concentration and intensity of this wine. Balance between ripe flavours and natural acidity is maintained.
Tasting notes:
Serve with any stew, steak. leg of lamb or blue cheese, or any combination of these.
