At Val de Vie Events PTY ltd we recognise the value of Corporate Responsibility.

In January 2012 Val de Vie Events established “Heart in a Box, crèches for Africa”

Heart in a Box was birthed when a group of woman realized that what was in their hands aligned with what was going on in their hearts.

We are a group of woman that work together and we have decided that we would like to leave a legacy that would influence generations to come and we want to challenge the corporate world to do the same.

We aspire to make a meaningful difference in the surrounding communities that will ultimately impact generations to come in our country but hopefully later the complete continent of Africa.

The Prochorus Crèche Support Programme

Background

The Prochorus Crèche Support Programme operates in Kayamandi (Stellenbosch) and surrounding townships in the Western Cape, under the auspices of Prochorus Community Developments.

Empowering

The Prochorus Crèche Support Programme has been active since 2007 and has proven to be a very effective programme by which existing shack crèches are turned into viable micro businesses, creating employment for previously disadvantaged women as well as investing in the extremely important area of Early Childhood Development. The programme has created 23 crèches, 69 Jobs and impacted 617 toddlers thus far.

Safety & Education

The crèches keep toddlers safe from the dangerous streets, and educates them in a safe, healthy and sustainable environment.

It has been proven that investment in Early Childhood Development has a substantial impact on children’s performance once they enter the formal school years.

Commitment

Prochorus will continue to provide this essential work that is encouraging parents to enter the workplace and is also preparing the next generation through early-childhood development and life skills support.

Facts

We will be totally changing the lives of, in excess of, 1300 toddlers and creating sustainable employment for more than 300 women.

We believe that this with this dedicated support, we will provide the necessary education, training and hope to enable the long-term change that is so needed in Kayamandi and surrounding townships in the Western Cape , to restore the communities to its full potential.

Impact

Our impact is being felt not only in the current generation who are able to return to work because of the safe and affordable childcare, but also in the next generation, who will not have to bear the injustices of substandard education and subsequent unemployment in the future.

Heart in a Box Commitment

 A portion of all income generated at Val de Vie Events PTY Lmt is transferred to Prochorus for support of the people of Kayamandi and surrounding townships in the Western Cape to build a brighter, more prosperous future, bringing hope for both the present and the next generation.
